Frequently asked questions
General
The Independent Living Reset is for adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or destabilized after a difficult life chapter — such as loss, burnout, illness, financial stress, relationship breakdown, or long-term pressure.
This program is especially helpful if you:
* Feel capable but depleted
* Struggle with daily structure or decision-making
* Know you need support, not more advice
* Want a small, contained, supportive environment
This program may not be a fit if you are:
* Looking for quick motivation or surface-level self-help
* Expecting therapy or clinical mental health treatment
* Unwilling to participate in live sessions
* Seeking a passive, “watch-and-forget” course
Independent Living Reset is about active participation and rebuilding capacity, not consuming content.
No, The Independent Living Reset is not therapy, counseling, medical treatment or a clinical program. There is no diagnosis, treatment, or therapeutic processing.
It is a facilitated, educational, and support-based program focused on practical life structure, emotional regulation, and rebuilding functional independence. Participants are encouraged to maintain any existing therapeutic or medical supports alongside the program.
Each live session is:
* Facilitator-led
* Small group (maximum 10 participants)
* Structured, calm, and supportive
* Focused on practical tools you can apply immediately
Sessions include guided discussion, teaching, and reflective exercises — not pressure to share personal details unless you choose to.
Only what you’re comfortable sharing.
Group participation is encouraged, but there is no pressure to disclose personal history or experiences beyond what feels appropriate to you.
Respect and boundaries are core to the group environment.
You are never required to share anything you’re not comfortable with.
Many participants benefit simply from listening, reflecting, and applying the tools privately. Participation is encouraged, but psychological safety is a priority.
Live attendance is strongly encouraged because the group dynamic matters.
If you miss a session, you’ll receive guidance on how to stay aligned with the program, but sessions are not designed to be passively consumed.
If you anticipate frequent absences, self-paced Custom Coaching may be a better fit.
The Independent Living Reset does not promise specific outcomes. What most participants experience is:
* Increased internal stability
* Improved daily functioning
* Better emotional regulation
* Clearer decision-making
* A renewed sense of agency and structure
Progress looks different for everyone, and change happens incrementally.
* One live session per week (approximately 2hrs)
* Optional reflection and practice between sessions
The program is designed to be realistic for people with limited energy or capacity and typically in what is sometimes referred to as a "grief fog".
Small groups create:
* Safety
* Consistency
* Accountability
* Personal attention
This is intentional. The Independent Living Reset is not designed to scale through volume — it’s designed to work.
The Full Independent Living Reset is:
*$2,500 for the 12-week program which includes all live sessions, guided materials and membership to TILR Community..
The cost reflects:
* Small group size
* Live facilitation
* Structured curriculum
* Ongoing accountability and support
This is not a self-paced course or a content library. You are investing in guided participation and consistent structure over time.
Payment secures your place in a specific class and time slot.
Because this is a small, live, facilitator-led program with limited spots, refunds are generally not available once the program begins.
If you have questions or concerns before enrolling, you’re encouraged to reach out to ensure the program is the right fit for you.
Feeling ready is not a requirement.
Many participants begin while feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or behind.
Readiness develops through structure and follow-through — not before.
If you’re not ready for a live 12 week cohort, The Independent Living Reset also offers Custom Coaching to meet you at your specific needs.
This can be a gentle starting point and can be booked at your own pace and convenience.
If you’re asking that question, it often is.
The Independent Living Reset is for people who know something needs to change — and want support rebuilding stability in a contained, respectful, and practical way.
If you’re unsure, trust that uncertainty is welcome here.
If you’re capable, motivated by independence, and tired of cycling through inconsistency — applying is a reasonable next step.
The application is a conversation starter, not a commitment.
Clear expectations are provided before the program begins.
If concerns arise early, communication is encouraged so next steps can be discussed thoughtfully.
Fit matters — for you and for the group.
The ILR skills themselves are foundational — but that doesn’t mean they’re easy.
Many capable, intelligent adults struggle not because they lack understanding, but because consistency has broken down.
This program works at the level where real change happens: daily life.
Falling behind doesn’t disqualify you.
This program assumes real life will happen. The structure is designed to help you re-engage, not quit.
What matters most is communication and willingness to continue — not perfection.
Many programs focus on insight, inspiration, or advice.
This program focuses on implementation.
You’re not asked to absorb information and figure out how to apply it later. The work happens in real time, with guidance, structure, and accountability built into the process.
That difference matters.
That uncertainty is common — and expected.
The Independent Living Reset isn’t built on motivation or belief. It’s built on participation, structure, and practice. You don’t need certainty to benefit; you need a willingness to engage with the process.
If you’re open to structure and accountability, the program can support meaningful change — even if you’re skeptical at the start.
